OS Explorer Active Maps
The OS Explorer Active Map series has been adopted by many individuals and organisations involved in outdoor activities – from walkers to cyclists and from horse riders to climbers and water sports enthusiasts. Its 1:25'000 or 4cm to 1km (2 ½ inches to 1 mile) scale provides a high level of detail.
The Active series are often known as ‘encapsulated’ or weatherproof maps. They contain the same information as the standard OS Explorer series but are covered in a lightweight protective plastic coating.
As well as handling wet weather conditions, the OS Explorer Map - Active series can easily be written on with washable ink – making it simple to highlight your favorite routes and then wipe them off when you return home.
The OS Explorer Map is also available without the plastic cover.
